Gavin Newsom spreads outrage over ICE farm raid — turns out he was defending the trafficking of children

After details of a recent ICE raid in California emerged, Newsom and progressive activists were exposed for what they're really defending — illegal child slave labor.

Most people first heard about the ICE raid on a farm in Camarillo, California this week due to a post Gavin Newsom made to his official X account.

“Kids running from tear gas, crying on the phone because their mother was just taken from the fields. Trump calls me ‘Newscum’ — but he’s the real scum,” Newsom wrote on the post that included video of the raid, showing children and adults (some of them protesters) running from apparent tear gas that was deployed in the background.

Wait — why are kids working on a farm? We’ll get to that question later.

It was clear what the intention of Newsom’s post was — to generate outrage among the anti-ICE, pro-illegal immigration progressives that make up his base. In the comment section below the post, people lamented the raid, calling it just another example of brutal human rights violations being carried out by President Trump’s “gestapo.”

“This is heartbreaking. These very very hardworking newcomers are human beings no different than any American citizen or president. Our newcomers are doing jobs that Americans will never do, so who the fuck is going to do those jobs now?,” replied the the X account “Proudly Blue.”

“If you need tear gas and riot squads to enforce immigration policy on farm workers and their kids, maybe it’s not the policy that’s “strong.” Maybe it’s just cruel,” wrote another person in the replies.

“Welcome to The United States of Commie-Nazi America,” another person wrote.

But as more details about the raid emerged, the narrative Newsom and his fans tried to perpetuate quickly began to crumble.

As it turns out, the farm belongs to the company Glass House Farms, which grows marijuana. Glass House Farms co-founder, president, and board director Graham Farrar is a Democratic donor who has donated to Newsom in the past.

Now here’s where the children come in: according to a post to X from Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Rodney Scott, the farm was “under investigation for child labor violations.”

Scott went on to say in a subsequent post that “10 juveniles were found at this marijuana facility - all illegal aliens, 8 of them unaccompanied. It’s now under investigation for child labor violations.”

In another post, Scott said the youngest juvenile arrested in the raid was 14-years-old.

As news reports on the incident stated, there were multiple anti-ICE protesters on the scene trying to disrupt the operation. Videos showed protesters hurling rocks at ICE vehicles. One protester was even caught on video pulling a handgun and firing in the direction of ICE agents.

As the details behind the raid circulated, some people pointed out the hypocrisy of Newsom and his anti-ICE base, considering that they were decrying a law enforcement operation that aimed to stop the trafficking of children for illegal farm labor.

“I know it may seem like an extreme position, but I don’t believe we should allow marijuana farms that rely on child labor or undocumented immigrants. I support federal authorities shutting down these businesses and deporting those who are in the country illegally,” wrote the National Reviews’ AG Hamilton wrote in a post to X.

“Unaccompanied children who have been illegally trafficked across the border should not be forced to harvest your marijuana crops, California,” wrote The Federalist’s Mollie Hemingway.

As for the protester who fired the gun, US Attorney for the Central District of California, Bill Essayli, said the FBI has offered a $50,000 award for information leading to the conviction of the suspect.
